Firefighters control Santa Paula Main St Fire Overnight, an Update on LA Fires and Power Shutoffs
At approximately 11:23pm Tuesday night, firefighters responded to the 1400 block of East Main Street for a reported fire to the rear of the address.
Upon arrival, there was active fire to debris, vehicles, and storage boxes. The Santa Ana winds were pushing embers and smoke to the immediate west, causing initial concern to the Peppertree Trailer Park.
Firefighters from Ventura County Fire, Ventura City Fire, and Oxnard Fire responded to the scene to battle the blaze. According to the PIO of Ventura County Fire, knockdown was achieved by 1:45am. Santa Paula Police was on scene assisting with traffic control.
The cause of this fire is under investigation. This fire broke out amid the “Particularly Dangerous Situation” Red Flag Warning that fueled other destructive fires in Los Angeles County.

- Olivas Fire (Ventura): 28 Acres, Forward Progress Stopped
- Sunset Fire (Hollywood Hills): 20 Acres, 0% Contained
With the strong winds and low humidity brought Public Safety Power Shutoffs and numerous repair outages. As of 6:00pm, there are over 182,000 customers affected by Public Safety Power Shutoffs, including over 50,000 customers across Ventura County. While 3.6% of SCE’s customers are experiencing “PSPS,” over 450,000 more customers are still under consideration for these shutoffs. Southern California Edison does not have any updated information on the extent of all the unplanned repair outages.
